Christian Science Society, Salisbury

Welcome

Welcome! We invite you to come worship with us on Sunday mornings. We would love to meet you!

Salisbury is perfectly located just between Charlotte, Hickory and Greensboro.

Our church, built in 1990, is a modern and attractive structure, lovingly designed to gather us together for worship, community, and healing.

Sunday Services

We love the Bible because our faith is based on it. Come worship God with us!

The Pastor of our church is not a person but is instead two books: the holy Bible, and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy.

During our Sunday service, we listen to a Bible Lesson (our sermon), which students of Christian Science all around the world have studied during the week.

There are 26 Bible Lesson subjects, and to highlight just four examples: Love; Christ Jesus; God the Only Cause and Creator; and Spirit.

During our church service, we have a time for silent prayer, after which the congregation thoughtfully repeats the Lord’s Prayer, along with its spiritual interpretation.

(The spiritual interpretation was written by Mary Baker Eddy, and it helps amplify the beloved prayer which Jesus taught his disciples.)

We also sing uplifting and inspiring hymns.

The Sunday worship services of Christian Science churches are designed to inspire, comfort, and heal.

They are a time of quiet listening to God’s individual messages to each of us.

If you’re in the area we’d love to welcome and meet you!

Wednesday Evening Meetings

We currently don’t meet on Wednesdays. There are other branch churches in the State of North Carolina and The Mother Church in Boston which have remote access available during their Wednesday testimony meetings.

Please see other listings on this website.

During these meetings, the First Reader reads passages he or she has selected from the Bible and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures on a specific, current topic of their choosing.

After announcements about any upcoming church-related events and activities the meeting is open to anyone in the congregation. You may stand and share any experience you’ve had in relying on prayer to solve a problem.

Sometimes, people just share an idea that has inspired them – and sometimes they just talk about what they’re especially grateful for. But anyone is welcome to enjoy the readings, and then just listen to those sharing remarks and testimonies in Christian fellowship.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School is open to all young people up to the age of 20. Sunday School meets during Sunday worship.

We kindly ask you to let us know in advance of your children attending so we can prepare in the right way, just to be certain that a member will be available to them that day.

In Sunday School, students learn about and discuss the infinite nature of God and the seven synonyms for God, as taught in Christian Science.

(Mary Baker Eddy shed a bright light on God’s nature by describing God as Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love.)

Sunday School students also learn Bible basics, such as the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Lord’s Prayer.

They talk about various Bible characters and how their experiences can relate to the experiences our young people face today. And most especially, they learn about Christ Jesus — his birth, life and works, death, resurrection, and ascension — and they also talk about his parables and the healing effect his life had on others who turned to him for help.

Students are encouraged to ask questions and to dig deeply to find out how God’s infinite goodness can be relied upon in meeting challenges in their own lives.

Children’s Room

We would love for you to visit our church, and we ask that you please let us know in advance if you would like to make use of this room for your child/children.

Our Children’s Room is a dedicated space for the care of infants and toddlers on Sunday morning while their parents attend our worship service. Give us a call or email us via our website, just to be certain that a member will be available to lovingly care for them that day.

Reading Room

Our Reading Room is located inside our church building.

It’s a place where you can purchase copies of Christian Science magazines and books, including Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science.

Or, you may utilize this peaceful space for some spiritual study.

It is open before and after our Sunday service…and by appointment.

Call us and leave a message, or you may email us via our website.
