Committees on Publication work in “a Christian manner” (Church Manual, p. 97) to bring healing light and genuine understanding when Christian Science, its founder, or the healing practice of its members have been misunderstood and inaccurately portrayed to the public.
This work requires spiritual readiness and healing prayer, and may include communicating with the media, academics, government officials, religious groups, and healthcare professionals.
As Committee on Publication for North Carolina, Renee McCardell represents the local churches of Christ, Scientist, in seeking to bring a better understanding of Christian Science to public discourse.
